US Vice President JD Vance’s diplomatic trip to Pakistan, where he was expected to push for a nuclear agreement, has been suspended, according to The New York Times.

A US official said the trip was paused because Tehran has not responded to Washington’s negotiating positions.

The official added that the visit has not been formally cancelled, while Pakistan is still waiting for an official response from Iran regarding participation in the talks.

Earlier, a White House official confirmed that Vance has not yet departed for Pakistan and is currently engaged in foreign policy meetings in Washington.

The development comes amid rising uncertainty over US–Iran negotiations and the future of the fragile ceasefire framework in the region.
