KEK: Unit B2 undergoing annual maintenance – investments at Kosova B TPP aligned with EU standards

The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced the start of a 30-day scheduled annual overhaul of Unit B2 at the Kosova B Thermal Power Plant.

According to KEK, this process is part of regular operational planning and aims to ensure technical maintenance, improve operational safety, and guarantee stable functioning of the unit.

The corporation also noted that Unit B1 at Kosova B has undergone major modernization projects, including the installation of electrostatic precipitators and a DeNOx system. These works began in April and are expected to be completed in early December.

KEK added that after the completion of these investments, operational safety is expected to increase significantly, the unit’s lifespan will be extended by around 20 years, and operations will align with the highest environmental standards of the European Union.
