The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, has expressed condolences to the family of Bajram Qerkini, a prominent activist for the missing persons during the war. Qerkini, who passed away after a prolonged illness, was a dedicated figure in the search for those missing from the Kosovo conflict, notably his own son, who was forcibly disappeared by Serbia.

In his message, Konjufca emphasized Qerkini’s immense contribution to the cause of the missing persons, calling him a “voice of dignity.” “Dear Qerkini family, with deep sorrow we learned of the passing of Bajram Qerkini, the leader of the Central Association for Missing Persons. He was a tireless activist, a voice that turned pain into strength and unyielding effort,” Konjufca stated.

Qerkini had dedicated more than 25 years to uncovering the fate of his son and many others who disappeared during the war in Kosovo. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Shipol City Cemetery in Mitrovica.
