Kosovo’s constitutive Assembly session has once again failed to make progress and will resume on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) walked out of the Assembly hall after Speaker Albulena Haxhiu insisted that the LDK’s nominee for deputy speaker also be put to a vote before the procedure for electing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK)’s deputy speaker had been completed.

LDK lawmakers argued that the second deputy speaker should be elected first and that the established procedural order must be respected before the Assembly moves on to their candidate.

Following the LDK’s departure from the session, Haxhiu announced that the constitutive session would continue on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

The latest deadlock comes as Kosovo’s Assembly continues to face difficulties in completing its constitutive procedures.
