Lawmakers at the Assembly of Kosovo observed a minute of silence during today’s plenary session to honor the life and legacy of renowned academic Rexhep Qosja, who passed away on Thursday.
The news of his death was announced by a family member, who also confirmed that the funeral was held in a private ceremony attended only by close relatives.
According to the family’s statement, the arrangements were made in accordance with the late academic’s wishes. No public condolence reception will be organized, and the family has decided not to participate in institutional commemorations.
“The burial took place in the presence of close family members. In line with his wishes, there will be no condolence reception organized by the family, and they will not take part in institutional events,” the statement said.
Rexhep Qosja is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Albanian intellectual and literary life, leaving behind a lasting impact on generations of scholars and readers.
