The Central Election Commission of Kosovo has canceled another procurement procedure related to the June 7 elections, this time involving the supply of voting booths.
According to reports, KQZ received only one bid for the tender, but the offered price exceeded the budget allocated for the procurement process.
The company that submitted the offer was “DIARI BM SH.P.K”, with a proposed price of €21,948, while KQZ had allocated only €15,000 for the contract nearly €7,000 less than the submitted bid.
Like the previously canceled tender for printing ballots, candidate brochures, and voter lists, this procurement process had also been planned through a negotiated procedure without publication of a contract notice.
“KQZ cancels the procurement activity because the accepted offer exceeds the budget of the contracting authority,” the decision states.
Earlier this week, KQZ also canceled the tender for printing ballots after no offers were accepted. The estimated value of that contract had been €284,506.
The developments come as Kosovo prepares for the June 7 elections amid ongoing logistical and institutional challenges.
