Kosovo Police Seize AK-47, Pistol and 181 Rounds of Ammunition in Ferizaj Village

Kosovo Police have seized an AK-47 assault rifle, a pistol and 181 rounds of ammunition during a search in Manastirc village in the Ferizaj municipality.

Police said the operation was carried out on Thursday, August 13, following a written search warrant issued by the Basic Court in Ferizaj.

The police investigations unit at the Ferizaj station searched the home and accompanying premises of a 35-year-old suspect identified by the initials F.H.

During the search, officers found the weapons and ammunition inside the trunk of a black BMW parked in a garage in the suspect’s yard.

According to the police, the seized items included:

  • One AK-47 automatic rifle
  • Three magazines containing a total of 139 rounds of ammunition
  • One pistol
  • Two magazines containing a total of 42 rounds of ammunition

The total amount of ammunition seized was 181 rounds.

Police notified the state prosecutor, who authorized the initiation of a criminal case for the unauthorized possession, control or ownership of firearms.

The suspect was interviewed in the presence of a court-appointed defense lawyer. Following the interview, the prosecutor ordered that he be placed in detention for 48 hours as further investigative procedures continue.
