PDK leader Memli Krasniqi has sharply criticized acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, claiming that Kurti would rather “sacrifice” Albulena Haxhiu than confront the reality of not having enough parliamentary support to form a government.
Speaking after the 11th failed attempt to constitute Kosovo’s Assembly, Krasniqi accused Kurti of holding the state hostage by insisting on Haxhiu’s candidacy for Speaker, despite lacking votes for her confirmation.
“Albin Kurti finds it easier to sacrifice Albulena Haxhiu than to face a vote himself because he knows he doesn’t have the numbers. He cannot hold the state hostage any longer,” said Krasniqi.
He urged Kurti to change the candidate if he truly wants a solution and accused Vetëvendosje of undermining democracy by refusing to accept the electoral outcome.
“This is an abuse of democracy. True democracy means pluralism, diverse opinions, and compromise. None of that exists here,” Krasniqi concluded.
