The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, stated that the ongoing situation in the Assembly is due to the stubbornness of Vetëvendosje (VV), who are attempting to “hold the state hostage for the sake of one person.”
He added that VV’s insistence on nominating Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly is preventing any progress in the legislature, noting that VV does not have the necessary majority.
“The arbitrary insistence on Albulena Haxhiu is preventing us from moving forward. If they don’t have the majority, they cannot impose their will by force.”
“My request is for them to change the candidate to someone who can gain the majority. This is damaging to our country; citizens are waiting for us to fulfill the tasks entrusted to us, not to come here every two days and hear the same thing from VV. They want to force Albulena Haxhiu, but it won’t pass,” he concluded.
