President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, reacted following today’s EU–Western Balkans Summit held in Tivat, emphasizing a shift from discussions on enlargement to concrete progress.
Metsola described the summit as different from previous ones, stressing that the European Union is now actively delivering enlargement rather than merely discussing it.
“The EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, Montenegro, is different,” Metsola wrote in a Facebook post alongside a photo from the event.
“We are no longer just talking about enlargement. We are doing it.”
Her statement reflects the renewed momentum within the European Union regarding enlargement policy and the integration of Western Balkan countries into the EU framework.
