The Kosovo Police has announced that it discovered and seized a significant amount of weapons in two separate cases in the Zubin Potok area during patrols carried out on April 18, 2026.

According to police, the first case was recorded around 13:10 in the village of Luka Reka, at the location known as Paljevë. During a search of an abandoned house, officers found a semi-automatic weapon with a bayonet, ammunition of various calibers, uniforms, and a Serbian state insignia.

Speaking about the situation, Erduan Baliqi, Head of Operational Planning in the Mitrovica region, said that the discovery of weapons in abandoned houses in the north has now become a recurring phenomenon.

“It has become a pattern. We are repeatedly encountering weapons in abandoned houses, but all cases are under investigation,” Baliqi stated on the show “Info Magazine” on Klan Kosova.

He added that all cases are being handled by the authorities, with investigations ongoing to determine the origin of the weapons and identify those involved.

Baliqi also noted that recent raids and inspections have uncovered various types of weapons and equipment, which have now been confiscated as material evidence.
