In a solemn commemoration, President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Kosovo paid tribute today to the late policeman Afrim Bunjaku, marking one year since the terrorist attack in Banjskë, Zveçan, that claimed his life.
President Osmani emphasized Bunjaku’s sacrifice, stating, “Today marks one year since policeman Afrim Bunjaku fell as a martyr, reminding us once again that this land is our eternal homeland. Freedom has no price. Kosovo is, and will remain, indivisible, with our borders inviolable—today and forever!”
Prime Minister Kurti echoed these sentiments during a government meeting, highlighting Bunjaku’s role in defending Kosovo’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “In our 221st government session, we made a pivotal decision to name the Regional Road R-217 segment from Ballaban to Banjskë in honor of the Hero of the Republic of Kosovo, Afrim Bunjaku. On this anniversary of the terrorist and paramilitary assault against our nation, we honor and will never forget the sacrifice of our hero, policeman Afrim Bunjaku.”
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to upholding the principles of sovereignty and national unity in the face of ongoing challenges.
As Kosovo reflects on this tragic event, the legacy of Afrim Bunjaku continues to inspire a collective resolve for peace and stability in the region.
