Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated that during a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, he managed to ease Serbia’s concerns regarding defense cooperation between Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of an artificial intelligence summit in New Delhi, Plenković said he clarified to Vučić that the collaboration between the defense ministries of Croatia, Kosovo, and Albania is purely technical and not directed against Serbia.

“We have addressed the concerns we understood existed in Serbia regarding cooperation between the defense ministries of Croatia, Kosovo, and Albania. I clarified that this collaboration is focused on technical cooperation between our departments and is in no way directed against Serbia. From what I observed in his statement, this was accepted,” Plenković said.

Vučić also stated that he had a long discussion with the Croatian Prime Minister, emphasizing that, for the first time, they discussed what he called a “military alliance” between Tirana, Zagreb, and Pristina. Earlier, at the Munich Security Conference, he had described this alliance as the greatest threat to Serbia.

Last year, Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo signed a declaration on cooperation in defense and security, aiming to strengthen stability in Southeast Europe, support the Euro-Atlantic path, and deepen cooperation between the three states.
