The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participates today in the Summit of the Leaders of the Western Balkans and the European Union, which is held in Kotor, Montenegro, with a focus on the Growth Plan of the Western Balkans.

In his speech, among other things, Kurti said that Kosovo is committed to democratic values and its will reflects that of the citizens.

He also sent a message to the EU, inviting it to monitor the progress of democratic reforms in the Balkan countries.

Kurti: Kosovo is committed to democratic values, its will reflects that of the citizens and as we have gathered here to discuss our path towards Europe, Kosovo’s progress must be recognized.

This is the most efficient strategy to strengthen leadership in the Western Balkans. If the EU supports countries that promote political pluralism and the rule of law, then it will be the citizens themselves who will lead the change.

If I have a message that I would convey to the EU, it is to monitor the progress of democratic reforms in the Balkan countries.

Allow me to address you about the progress we have made. For Kosovo, the growth plan represents a new opportunity to join the common market.

The implementation of the reforms is almost complete. We have acted in accordance with EU actions.
