UN Special Representative for Kosovo and UNMIK chief Peter Due met in Brussels with Peter Sorensen, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Belgrade-Prishtina Dialogue, to discuss efforts to support dialogue, stability and the rights of all communities in Kosovo.
According to UNMIK, the meeting focused on how the two officials’ respective efforts could complement each other in supporting the EU-facilitated dialogue and contributing to stability in Kosovo.
The discussion also addressed the rights and interests of all communities, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining conditions for a peaceful and prosperous Kosovo.
“Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for UNMIK, Peter Due, met yesterday in Brussels with Peter Sorensen. They discussed how their efforts can complement each other in supporting dialogue, stability, as well as the rights and interests of all communities, for a peaceful and prosperous Kosovo,” UNMIK said in a post on X.
The meeting comes as international efforts continue to support the normalization dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, while the EU and UN remain focused on stability and intercommunity relations in Kosovo.
