Kosovo’s Prime Minister in office, Albin Kurti, is actively seeking votes to secure another term in office. He met today with Veton Berisha, leader of the Egyptian Liberal Party (PLE), which is set to be part of the new Parliament.
In a statement to the media, Berisha emphasized that the PLE has no red lines with any party in forming the new government. He mentioned that the party presented its government program to Kurti, with the expectation of being involved in decision-making policies if they join the next government.
Berisha also noted that discussions will continue on whether or not they will be part of the government, and further talks will be held in the coming days.
“We, as a parliamentary party, are now back in the Assembly after four years, and after many injustices that were done to us as the Egyptian Liberal Party, we are here and we have been in the calculations of the prime minister for a meeting. We discussed a potential cooperation. Normally, for our party, given our requests regarding the development of the Egyptian community, we have no red lines with anyone, including Prime Minister Kurti or anyone in Kosovo. We presented our requests, and if we join the government, we want to have the opportunity to influence government policies and take on responsibilities. We have submitted our party program, and in the coming days, we will continue our meetings. We will be in the Assembly on the day of the constitutive session, and for the government, we expect a moment when we are ready,” Berisha told the media.
