The United States Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, met with Albanian and American veterans at the US Embassy in Tirana, highlighting their continued service after military deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Whitaker said it is always an honor to meet “veterans who courageously put themselves at risk for our shared security,” emphasizing their role both on the battlefield and in diplomacy.

The meeting brought together veterans who previously served in NATO operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who now contribute to diplomatic efforts at the US Embassy in Tirana.

“Whether as fighters or working on the frontlines of diplomacy, we share a commitment to peace through strength,” Whitaker stated.

The meeting reflects continued cooperation between the United States and Albania within NATO frameworks, as well as recognition of the role veterans play in advancing security and diplomatic missions.
