Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani reacted following the European Parliament’s confirmation of the European Commission’s decision to lift all measures imposed on Kosovo.

Osmani welcomed the move and expressed gratitude to allied countries for their support in ending the sanctions. She emphasized that the measures had been unjust and negatively impacted the daily lives of Kosovans.

“Following the decision announced in December by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to lift all EU measures against Kosovo after the EU-Western Balkans Summit, we welcome today’s confirmation by the Commission that this decision has now been fully implemented. I thank the Commission and all our partners from member states for their support in resolving this matter, which resulted in the removal of unjust measures that negatively affected the lives of the people of Kosovo,” Osmani stated.

The President also reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to close cooperation with the European Union and its progress toward EU candidate status.

“Kosovo remains committed to working closely with the EU and advancing on our path toward EU candidate status,” she concluded.
