Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has received a congratulatory letter from Germany’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, following his re-election as prime minister.
In the letter dated September 25, 2026, Rudolph conveyed his “sincere congratulations” to Kurti on his re-election and emphasized that Germany and Kosovo are linked by close and lasting relations.
The German ambassador underlined that Germany views Kosovo as an important partner in the Western Balkans and expressed Germany’s readiness to support the region’s stability, reforms and European perspective.
A particular focus of the letter is the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue. Rudolph said that the EU-facilitated dialogue remains essential for long-term stability in the Western Balkans and expressed hope that Kurti’s government would engage in the swift resumption of the dialogue and work toward “practical, reciprocal, respectful and sustainable” agreements.
The German ambassador’s letter comes at a time when Kurti has also received other congratulatory messages following his re-election. The Prime Minister’s Office recently confirmed that he had also received a congratulatory letter from U.S. Congressman George Latimer.
Congratulations have also been conveyed to Kurti by Montenegro and North Macedonia, adding to the list of countries that have responded following the formation of Kosovo’s new institutions.
