LDK has accused authorities of systematic manipulation of electricity billing, claiming that citizens may have been overcharged by millions of euros.
According to data presented by party representative Visar Azemi, an inspection of around 9,000 electricity meters in the regions of Prishtina and Ferizaj showed that approximately 87% had inaccuracies in measuring time and energy consumption.
LDK argues that these are not random technical errors, but indications of a possible systematic manipulation. They claim that many citizens were billed at higher tariff rates regardless of their actual consumption.
The party is calling for:
- An independent and forensic audit of the billing system
- Accountability from the Energy Regulatory Office
- Resignation of the regulator’s board
- Suspension of further price increases
- Compensation for affected citizens
- A criminal investigation by the prosecution
LDK emphasized that protecting consumers and restoring trust in the energy system must be an institutional priority.
