Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited the Kosovo national football team on Sunday, just two days before their decisive playoff final against Turkey national football team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.
The highly anticipated match will take place on Tuesday evening at Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Prishtina.
During his visit, Kurti delivered a strong message of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of the moment not only for the team but for the entire nation.
“Through you as a team, we have the opportunity to present Kosovo and its history of resilience and talent to the eyes of the world. Behind you stands not only a state, but an entire nation,” Kurti said, according to a statement from the Football Federation of Kosovo.
He highlighted the unwavering support from fans in the stadium, families, citizens across every town and village, and Albanians worldwide, urging players to carry that energy onto the pitch.
Kurti also stressed that the team’s belief in reaching the final has been built through their collective effort, alongside the coaching staff and management.
The match is seen as a historic opportunity for Kosovo to secure a place on football’s biggest stage.
