The captain of Turkey, Hakan Çalhanoglu, stated that he knows some Albanian words and praised Kosovo, saying that “Kosovo does not have just one dangerous player.”
“Vedat Muriqi, Fisnik Asllani, Edon Zhegrova are players who play well. Kosovo has a good team. Of course, I know some Albanian words, but I don’t prefer to say them at the press conference,” Çalhanoglu said.
He also emphasized that Turkey does not underestimate Kosovo in any way.
Çalhanoglu added that Turkey will give their maximum effort on the field on Tuesday evening at ‘Fadil Vokrri’ in the 2026 World Cup playoff final against Kosovo.
“We never underestimate any team. We saw Inter being eliminated by Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League. We will give our best,” he said.
