U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the Iranian president has requested a ceasefire with the United States. He indicated that the issue will be addressed once the Strait of Hormuz is open and secure.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “The President of the New Iranian Regime, far less radicalized and much more intelligent than his predecessors, has just requested a ceasefire with the United States of America. We will review this once the Strait of Hormuz is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are putting Iran on ice—or, as they say, in the Stone Age!”

Trump also suggested that the conflict in Iran could potentially end within two to three weeks.
