Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Glauk Konjufca, has reaffirmed the country’s alignment with international partners in supporting the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical trade and energy corridors.

Speaking after a high-level virtual meeting hosted by UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, which gathered over 40 foreign ministers, Konjufca addressed the rising tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

He stressed that Kosovo strongly condemns Iran’s attacks on international maritime transport and underscored that freedom of navigation and respect for global trade routes are non-negotiable principles.

Konjufca warned that disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are not merely a regional issue but carry serious global consequences. Any blockage affects supply chains, drives up energy prices, and threatens economic stability worldwide — including in Kosovo.

He emphasized the urgent need for coordinated international action to ensure the নিরাপ normal functioning of strategic trade corridors and to safeguard maritime security.

Kosovo, he added, remains firmly aligned with its Euro-Atlantic partners, supporting efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as quickly and safely as possible.
