A drone strike in southern Iran hit a depot containing aid supplies and emergency vehicles, a spokesperson for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said on Friday.
The attack in the southern province of Bushehr early Friday destroyed two containers, two buses, and an unspecified number of emergency vehicles, the spokesperson added. No responsibility was immediately assigned, and Reuters could not independently determine who was behind the strike.
The IFRC is the only humanitarian organization operating across the entire country, with around 100,000 volunteers. Three of its members have been killed since the start of U.S.-Israeli strikes in Iran on February 28.
The head of its delegation in Iran told Reuters on Thursday that medical needs are rising exponentially and supplies could soon run short.
