The Assembly of Kosovo has gone on a break until 16:00.
A parliamentary debate is ongoing in the country’s highest legislative body regarding the rise in fuel prices.
Proposals have also been made to temporarily reduce VAT on fuel, as well as to urgently find ways to subsidize diesel prices for agriculture, public transport, and local producers.
These proposals have been opposed by members of the government cabinet, with disagreements and exchanges between the ruling majority and the opposition.
Finance Minister Hekuran Murati criticized the opposition’s proposal to temporarily reduce excise taxes, stating that it would reduce state revenues by €10 million.
