President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has welcomed the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“This is a relief, as this conflict has already taken many lives,” she wrote on X.
She said that a path toward lasting peace is now needed.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, saying it would come into effect today.
