The Kosovo Security Force (KSF) has marked a significant boost to its operational readiness following the successful conclusion of two intensive professional development programs: the “Basic Sniper Course” and the “Combat Leader Course.”

The graduation, announced on May 8, 2026, by the Doctrine and Training Command, underscores the KSF’s ongoing transition into a modern, professionally trained force capable of high-precision and tactical leadership roles.

The Basic Sniper Course: Precision at Distance

Conducted by the Professional Training Center, the Basic Sniper Course focused on sharpening the tactical and operational capabilities of KSF members.

  • Tactical Expertise: Participants were trained in the art of long-range precision shooting using various calibers.
  • Operational Skills: Beyond marksmanship, the course emphasized fieldcraft, concealment, and the ability to operate effectively in diverse environments.

The Combat Leader Course: Command and Decision-Making

Simultaneously, the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) School concluded the Combat Leader Course, an intensive program designed to forge the next generation of KSF leadership.

  • Intensive Training: The curriculum covered military leadership, operational planning, and effective communication.
  • Field Execution: Trainees were put through rigorous practical exercises in decision-making and the execution of tactical procedures under pressure.

Standardizing Professionalism

According to the KSF official statement, the graduates demonstrated high levels of discipline and commitment throughout both theoretical lectures and practical field exercises.

“Through professional lectures and practical exercises, the students demonstrated discipline, dedication, and a high level of professionalism,” the KSF announcement stated.

These courses are part of a broader 2026 strategic initiative to align KSF training standards with those of NATO partners, ensuring that both individual specialists and tactical leaders possess the advanced skills necessary for regional security and peacekeeping missions.
