Glauk Konjufca participated in the meeting of foreign ministers in the “Friends of the Western Balkans and EU Partners” format, held at Bratislava Castle.

The meeting was organized by Juraj Blanár and gathered delegations from thirteen countries, along with Marta Kos, according to IndeksOnline.

During the opening session focused on gradual integration and regional cooperation, Konjufca emphasized that Kosovo remains ready to obtain candidate country status and open EU accession negotiations.

In the second session, dedicated to security as a new dimension of integration, Konjufca stressed the importance of gradually integrating the Western Balkans into the European security architecture, including cooperation in defense, cybersecurity, and interoperability with NATO standards.

He also underlined that the membership of Western Balkan countries that are not yet part of the Alliance is a strategic interest for the stability of the entire region and Europe.

“The Republic of Kosovo remains committed to further deepening cooperation with European partners and advancing its path toward membership in the European Union,” the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora said.
