The Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP) has annulled a decision by the Central Election Commission (KQZ) that had allowed members of the diaspora to vote using expired identification documents.
According to the decision, the Panel stated that after reviewing the complaints, the response from the CEC, and the relevant case files, it concluded that the complaint filed by the KDI was well-founded.
“The decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC), No. 01/1198/2026 dated 03.06.2026, regarding the approval of the recommendation to allow voting with expired Republic of Kosovo documents for voting in polling stations at diplomatic missions, is annulled,” the PZAP decision states.
The Panel further explained that the CEC had approved a recommendation permitting voting with expired Kosovo documents in diplomatic voting centers, but after examining the evidence and arguments, it found the decision to be legally unfounded.
