The United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has updated its travel guidance for citizens regarding travel to the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the updated advisory reported today, the UK no longer advises against all travel to the north of Kosovo, but instead recommends avoiding travel there except for essential purposes.

The guidance now states that British citizens may travel to the municipalities of Zvečan, Zubin Potok, Leposavić, and northern Mitrovica areas north of the Iber River, but should do so only when necessary.

Previously, the UK had advised its citizens to avoid all travel to northern Kosovo except in essential cases, due to security concerns in the area.
