Iran is reassessing its negotiations with the United States following recent American military strikes, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.
Speaking to the Iranian Students’ News Network (SNN), Baghaei accused both the United States United States and Israel Israel of repeatedly violating ceasefire arrangements and undermining diplomatic efforts.
He stated that diplomacy cannot function “in a vacuum” and requires at least a minimal environment of stability for negotiations to move forward.
“Unfortunately, the United States is undermining this process through contradictory messages, frequent shifts in its positions and demands, and repeated ceasefire violations,” Baghaei said. He also accused Israel of acting in bad faith through continued military operations in Lebanon.
The comments come after the latest exchange of hostilities between Iran and the United States. Tehran said it launched retaliatory strikes against U.S. targets in the region after coming under American attack.
The U.S. military, meanwhile, stated that its operations against Iran had concluded and described the strikes as a response to the downing of a U.S. Army helicopter.
The developments have raised fresh concerns about regional stability and the future of diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.
