US President Donald Trump has stated that the war with Iran has ended.

However, during the night, Iran reportedly launched several unmanned aerial vehicles toward commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the latest reports from US media.

Fox News reports that US forces intercepted and shot down two Iranian kamikaze drones. A senior US defense official stated that Iran appears to have attempted to target commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

“US forces shot down two one-way attack drones. Traffic through the strait is continuing normally,” the official said, according to Sky News.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported explosions near the coastal area of Sirik city in southern Iran. According to them, the incident is linked to a confrontation involving a vessel that allegedly violated navigation restrictions.

State television IRIB reported that a tanker, after warnings from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy, was forced to comply with a passage restriction.

Despite optimistic messages from the White House in recent days, the latest incidents indicate that the security situation in the region remains tense. These developments also raise questions about how difficult it will be to restore uninterrupted traffic through one of the world’s most important maritime routes.

Iran and the United States have issued conflicting statements in recent weeks regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. While Tehran seeks to restrict passage and impose navigation fees, Washington is calling for the full reopening of the strait to international maritime traffic.
