The caretaker Government of Kosovo has approved several decisions during an electronic meeting, including the extension of the mandate of the commission responsible for verifying diplomas issued by the University of North Mitrovica.
According to the government’s decision, the commission’s mandate has been extended from June 22, 2026, until September 22, 2026, allowing it to continue the verification process of diplomas issued by the institution. The commission was originally established in 2023 and has had its mandate renewed multiple times as authorities continue reviewing educational credentials.
In addition, the government approved the establishment of several recruitment commissions for senior leadership positions, including:
- Secretary General at the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation;
- Commissioner for Languages;
- Executive Director of the Kosovo Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices.
The government also adopted amendments to a previous decision concerning the commission tasked with evaluating strategically important information and communication systems.
The extension of the diploma-verification commission remains part of Kosovo’s broader efforts to regulate and validate educational qualifications issued by institutions operating in northern Kosovo, ensuring compliance with the country’s legal and administrative framework.
