Japan has been shaken by another powerful earthquake, raising fresh concerns over heightened seismic activity in the country’s northern region.

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Iwate Prefecture early in the morning, with strong tremors felt across several nearby areas.

According to Japan’s meteorological authorities, the earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of approximately 40 kilometers. Although strong seismic intensity was recorded in parts of the region, no tsunami warning was issued.

The latest quake comes just days after a stronger magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck northern Japan, keeping authorities on high alert for potential aftershocks.

Seismologists continue to closely monitor the situation, while residents have been urged to remain cautious and follow official guidance in the event of further seismic activity.
