The newly appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, has appointed Ed Miliband as Foreign Secretary as part of his new government cabinet.

Miliband, who previously served as Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, replaces Yvette Cooper as the head of British diplomacy.

Throughout his political career, Miliband has been regarded as a strong supporter and friend of the Republic of Kosovo.

“Through the intervention in Kosovo, we saved the lives of tens of thousands of people in that country,” he stated in 2011, describing Kosovo as one of the most successful examples of a humanitarian intervention.

Miliband is expected to lead Britain’s foreign policy at a time of major international challenges, including the war in Ukraine, relations with the European Union and the United States, as well as broader global security issues.
