U.S. President Donald Trump attended the ceremony marking the return of the remains of American service members killed during fighting in the Middle East.
At Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth honored four members of the U.S. armed forces who lost their lives during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
The U.S. president met with the families of the fallen soldiers and said they had served a greater purpose, highlighting efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
The fallen service members included Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, Army Specialist Isabella Gonzales, Sergeant Angel Rampersad, and Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton.
According to the Pentagon, dozens of U.S. military personnel have been injured since the latest escalation in the region began, while most have since returned to duty.
Trump also announced that his administration would release the results of investigations into the attacks in which the American soldiers were killed.
Ceremonies honoring fallen U.S. troops are considered among the most significant military traditions in the United States and are typically attended by the president or senior government officials.
