Esat Shala, an activist and collector of documents, video recordings, and other materials related to the 1998–1999 Kosovo war, has claimed that a Turkish citizen was arrested on Friday in connection with alleged war crimes committed in the village of Krushë e Madhe.
Speaking on T7’s program Frontal, Shala said he possesses a video recorded a day before the Krushë e Madhe massacre, in which individuals allegedly identify themselves and describe the crimes they intended to commit.
“We have the video. A day before the Krushë e Madhe massacre, they identify themselves, give their initials, explain who they are, what their duties are, and what massacres they are going to carry out. They are Arkan’s group,” Shala said.
He added that he had not submitted the video to the Kosovo Police.
According to Shala, work related to the case has been ongoing for the past two years.
“I have known these individuals for a long time, since after the war ended, and I am very pleased that our work has paid off,” he stated.
Gazeta Express reported that it attempted to contact the Kosovo Police for confirmation and further details regarding the alleged arrest but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the arrest or released details regarding the suspect or the allegations.
