Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, hosted a meeting with Benjamin Haddad, France’s Delegate Minister for Europe.
Mentioning that five agreements were signed today between Kosovo and France, Kurti said they deepen bilateral cooperation in several key areas.
“Today, I welcomed in a meeting the Delegate Minister for Europe of the French Republic, Benjamin Haddad.”
“The visit of Minister Haddad today follows the working lunch I held with President Emmanuel Macron on March 17 at the Élysée Palace and reflects our joint commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries. Today, this commitment was materialized through the signing of five agreements between Kosovo and France.
The extradition agreement and the agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters strengthen cooperation between our justice institutions in the fight against crime and ensuring accountability.
The €60 million loan agreement and the establishment of the France–Kosovo Committee will support infrastructure investments, the preparation and organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, as well as their long-term legacy.
Meanwhile, the administrative agreement on teaching the French language expands opportunities for learning French and brings Kosovo even closer to the Francophone community,” Kurti wrote in a Facebook post.
Kurti said that during the meeting with Minister Haddad, they discussed “Kosovo’s European integration, regional security, economic cooperation, and the deepening of bilateral partnership.”
He added that he requested “France’s support for Kosovo’s advancement toward membership in the European Union, NATO, and other international organizations.”
“I thanked Minister Haddad for his visit and for his engagement in advancing relations between our two countries. The agreements signed today demonstrate that our partnership is increasingly transforming into concrete projects, investments, and results for the citizens of Kosovo,” Kurti wrote.
