Serbian Citizen Detained at Bërnjak Border Crossing with €13,630 in Undeclared Cash

A Serbian citizen has been stopped at the Bërnjak border crossing after Kosovo authorities discovered €13,630 in undeclared cash during a routine inspection.

According to the Kosovo Police report, the incident occurred on July 30 at around 11:15 a.m., when officers conducting checks at the Bërnjak border point found the money, which the suspect had failed to declare.

The individual was escorted to a police station, while the case was later handed over to the Kosovo Customs authorities for further proceedings.

“At the Bërnjak Border Crossing Point, on 30.07.2026 at 11:15, a male suspect, a citizen of Serbia, was escorted to the police station after €13,630 of undeclared money was found during a search. The case was handed over to Customs for further procedure,” the police report stated.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the identity of the person involved or the outcome of the customs procedure.
