Five wildfire hotspots have been reported across Albania over the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Defence, most of the fires have been extinguished, while five remain active and one area is being monitored.
A total of 37 firefighting vehicles and 365 operational personnel have been deployed to deal with the situation. They have been supported by 158 members of the Armed Forces, with 10 vehicles and four Air Force helicopters.
In Mallakastër, after several days of intensive firefighting operations, the fires in Riban, Ngraçan, Panahor and Çyçen have been completely extinguished. Meanwhile, a fire has reignited deep inside the forest in Drenie, in the Patos municipality, and operational teams continue working to contain it.
Situation in Krujë
In Krujë, firefighting efforts are continuing in the Abaze neighbourhood and in the Krastë–Halil area. In Abaze, strong winds have contributed to the spread of the fire, but according to authorities, there is currently no threat to populated areas.
In Krastë–Halil, aerial intervention was also carried out in the early morning hours. Two Air Force helicopters were deployed to slow the spread of the flames and support ground teams. Following the intervention, the situation was brought under control, while efforts continue to fully contain and extinguish the fire.
According to the Ministry of Defence, a total of four Air Force helicopters have been deployed to the two fire hotspots in Krujë.
Active Fire Also Reported in Tirana
In Priskë e Madhe, in the municipality of Tirana, operations are continuing to bring the fire under control. Authorities said there is no threat to populated areas in this location either.
In Cikallesh, Kavajë, the fire has been completely extinguished, while the Dajti area remains under monitoring.
The situation has also improved in several other regions. Fires in Vilëz, Kurbin, and Kallmet i Vogël, Lezhë, have been completely extinguished. The same is reported in Goraj–Budishë, in the municipality of Malësi e Madhe.
In Mount Nemërçka, in the municipality of Përmet, the fire hotspot remains under observation but does not pose a threat to populated areas.
Authorities from the National Civil Protection Agency and civil protection structures remain on high alert and continue coordinating operations on the ground until all active fire hotspots are fully contained.
