NATO has stated that it is working to ensure that the Kosovo Force (KFOR) remains adapted to the current circumstances, taking into account improvements in the security situation.
NATO spokesperson Allison Hart announced this in a post on X, saying that under the leadership of KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş, NATO has begun adjusting its military posture in close coordination with all relevant authorities and stakeholders.
“This process is based on conditions on the ground and can be reversed if deemed necessary,” Hart stated.

“NATO is working to ensure that our peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, KFOR, is adapted to the current circumstances, taking into account improvements in the security situation.
Under the steady leadership of KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş, we have begun adjusting our posture in close coordination with all authorities and stakeholders.
These adjustments demonstrate concrete progress in supporting a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo, as well as freedom of movement, in accordance with the mandate of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999.
This process is based on conditions on the ground and can be reversed if deemed necessary.
