Irish professor of European politics John O’Brennan has sharply criticized the European Union over its approach toward Serbia following the funeral ceremony of former Bosnian Serb commander Ratko Mladić.
O’Brennan said that for years, the EU has convinced itself that Serbia has changed or is becoming a “normal” European state.
“Today, the Church and the Serbian state gave the Butcher of Bosnia a hero’s funeral,” he wrote on X.
According to him, following this act, Serbia “categorically has no place in the European Union.”
