The United States Embassy in Kosovo says strategic dialogue between Washington and Pristina can resume when the appropriate conditions are met, including Kosovo’s fulfilment of its commitments towards local Serbs.
In an official response to Klan Kosova, a US Embassy spokesperson said the strategic dialogue had been suspended indefinitely in September 2025 because of concerns over actions taken by Kosovo’s then caretaker government.
“The United States suspended the US–Kosovo strategic dialogue indefinitely in September 2025 due to concerns regarding actions taken by the then caretaker government. We remain committed to advancing the shared interests of the United States and the people of Kosovo.
“We look forward to engaging in strategic dialogue with Kosovo when the right conditions are in place, including Kosovo fulfilling its commitments towards Kosovo Serbs,” the spokesperson said.
