Eight days before the verdict is expected in the Hague trial of the four former KLA leaders, activists from the organization “Liria ka Emër” (Freedom Has a Name) called for their release during a symbolic gathering held outside the EULEX building in Pristina, which also houses the office of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
“In the name of the people, declare them innocent,” read the banner featuring images of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said today that he has no information about what decision has been reached by the Specialist Chambers.
The four former KLA leaders are awaiting the verdict in the case, which is scheduled to be announced during a public hearing on September 16.
Five protests in support of the KLA were organized in 2025 alone, while two more have been held this year.
Another protest will take place in Pristina on September 12, calling for an acquittal of the four former KLA leaders.
