Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu has said that defending the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) is both a civic and institutional duty.

In a Facebook post, Haxhiu called for restraint, rejecting the labelling of political opponents as “spies” or “traitors,” as well as the targeting of witnesses or citizens.

She stressed that anyone who possesses information about actions that may harm the national or state interest should report it to the relevant security and justice institutions.

“The values of the KLA’s war are not defended through slander and threats, but through truth, justice and dignity,” Haxhiu wrote.
