Kosovo experienced another eventful 24-hour period marked by police operations, arrests related to alleged war crimes, weapons and ammunition seizures, violent incidents and the execution of arrest warrants.
The main development was the “Case 23” operation in Zubin Potok, where nine people were arrested on suspicion of war crimes against the civilian population.
Several other incidents throughout the day also required the intervention of the Kosovo Police and prosecutors.

“Case 23” — 9 Arrested on Suspicion of War Crimes
The operation, codenamed “Case 23,” was carried out in Zubin Potok in connection with the case known as the “Group of Intellectuals.”
Nine people were arrested on suspicion of war crimes against the civilian population and, following questioning, were detained for 48 hours.
The operation was conducted at 12 locations. During the searches, authorities found and seized weapons, mobile phones, military identification booklets, ammunition and cash.
The investigation concerns events that took place on April 19, 1999, in Mala Kalludra, Zubin Potok, where 23 Albanian civilians are listed as victims.
Shipovë — AK-47, 343 Rounds and Military Uniforms
An abandoned house in Shipovë, Zubin Potok, was searched, resulting in the discovery of an AK-47 with six magazines and 157 rounds of ammunition, an M-48 rifle with 186 rounds, a bayonet, military uniforms bearing Serbian insignia and other equipment.
The person who may have possessed the weapons has not been identified so far.
Leposaviq — Three Weapons and 139 Rounds Found in a Barn
Three weapons and 139 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were discovered in a barn in the village of Dren, Leposaviq.
The owner of the property acknowledged that the barn belonged to him but denied that the weapons and ammunition were his.
He was detained for 48 hours.
Lipjan — Brother Allegedly Attacked With a Screwdriver
In the village of Rusinovc, Lipjan, a family dispute resulted in a case being investigated as attempted aggravated murder.
A man is suspected of attacking his brother with a screwdriver, striking him in the throat, chest and arm.
The suspect was detained for 48 hours.
Korishë — 200 Rounds Found in House Attic
A property dispute between two brothers in Korishë, Prizren, led to a report of threats and subsequently to a search of the suspect’s home.
Police found 200 rounds of ammunition for a long gun in the attic.
The suspect was detained, while the case is being investigated for threats and unauthorized possession of weapons.
Kamenicë — Report of Person Carrying Long Gun Leads to Home Search
In Kamenicë, information about a person allegedly moving near a river while carrying a long gun prompted police intervention.
