An arsenal of weapons and ammunition was discovered Sunday morning in the village of Dren, Leposaviq, during an operation carried out based on operational intelligence.
According to sources cited by Rks News, at around 5:00 a.m., the SE-20 unit searched a barn in the village, where three weapons and a total of 139 rounds of ammunition of different calibers were found.
The weapons discovered included an M-56 repeating firearm, .22 caliber, a CZ-99 pistol, 9 mm caliber, and a CZ Model 70 pistol, 7.65 mm caliber, all manufactured by the Yugoslav company “Crvena Zastava.”
Authorities also found 99 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 30 rounds of 9 mm ammunition and 10 rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition.
Patrol units, investigators and forensic officers also arrived at the scene and carried out the necessary investigative procedures.
The owner of the property, Srdjan Vukosavljevic, was escorted for questioning in the presence of his defense lawyer.
According to information obtained by Sinjali, he acknowledged that the barn where the weapons were found belonged to him, but denied that the weapons and ammunition belonged to him.
On the order of the State Prosecutor, the suspect’s home was also searched.
Before the search, he stated that he possessed an air rifle, but it was not found at his home. The suspect said he had given the weapon to one of his neighbors, but claimed he could not remember which neighbor.
Following the completion of the investigative actions, the case was initiated for the “unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons,” while the suspect was detained for 48 hours.
The case remains under investigation.
