Former MEP Pack will be declared an honorary citizen of Podujeva
The former member of the European Parliament, Doris Pack, is staying in the municipality of Podujeva. She was received by the Speaker Shpejtim Bulliqi and the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Saranda Bogujevci.
After the meeting, Bulliqi declared that on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Podujeva, Doris Pack is honoring this municipality and Kosovo with her presence.
“An honorable worker, a member of the European Parliament who has done a lot for Kosovo and the Albanians, and the greatest satisfaction is that now the municipality of Podujeva has made a decision to declare her an honorary citizen of our municipality and I believe that from June 19, Doris Pack , will be the youngest resident of our municipality”, said Shpejtim Bulliqi, mayor of the municipality of Podujeva
Meanwhile, former MEP Doris Pack expressed that she is happy that she is visiting the municipality of Podujeva.
“I am happy to be in Podujeva, because I have a special relationship with Podujeva because this is where I understood what it means to live under the apartheid regime. I am also pleased to be back here, and I want to say that the late president, Ibrahim Rugova, was a leader who was known for his peace, but Kosovo had to explode with protests to internationalize its issue , and this was done thanks to the students, and everything had started in Podujevë”, she said, reports RTKlive.
Former MEP Pack will stay for three days and will have meetings with municipal councilors, the women of Podujeva, the former political prisoners of Llap and other personalities of this municipality. Doris Pack will also be declared an honorary citizen of this municipality.
