U.S. Announces $1.7 Billion Military Aid Package for Ukraine!

RKS NEWS

On Monday, the United States announced two new military aid packages for Ukraine, totaling approximately $1.7 billion.

John Kirby, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated that the presidential package, valued at around $200 million, will include air defense interceptors, munitions for HIMARS, mortar and artillery shells, as well as Javelin missiles and anti-tank systems.

Kirby also mentioned that the U.S. Department of Defense will provide $1.5 billion to Ukraine through security assistance funds. These resources are aimed at “strengthening Ukraine’s air defense” with anti-tank weapons and long-range systems.

The announcement follows reports of Ukrainian drone strikes deep within Russian territory, causing damage to infrastructure in two regions, according to the Russian Defense Ministry and regional officials. This is the second consecutive day that Ukrainian attacks have damaged Russian infrastructure.

Since beginning its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Moscow has systematically targeted infrastructure and civilian objects in Ukraine, causing casualties and damage.

In response, Ukraine has started striking oil refinery and energy infrastructure within Russia, which mainly supports the Russian military.

Meanwhile, Russia carried out attacks on the southern Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Nikopol on Monday morning, injuring 20 people, including five children, according to regional and local officials.
